Agnew Twitter NFL Mock Draft

All right, it’s another fun meaningless blog. I’m sorry for the delay in getting a blog out. I wrote this big huge blog at the beginning of last week, but we felt it would be too easily misunderstood. So I have been discouraged in the blogging realm lately. But here is a dumb fun idea that may work or it may not. It kind of depends on how many of our community are on twitter and how many of those are football fans. So here’s what’s going to happen…

We’re going to have an NFL Mock Draft today. I’m going to start it on Twitter. My Twitter is @AgnewsDei. The hashtag will be #agnewNFLmock. If you want to participate, you have to be quick. I’ll start with the first pick from the St. Louis Rams. Then, whoever wants to pick next, jump in. Your twitter post should look something like this…

“#agnewNFLmock #2 Detroit Lions choose Bob Johnson, K, Applied Tech College of Montana”

Of course, that would be a terrible pick, since I don’t even know who Bob Johnson is. But the Lions just might do that. At least, it’s not the Clippers. Anyway, whoever posts first will be the official pick. If you have leftover characters and want to give a reason, great. You can abbreviate anything as long as we get the general idea. If you’re the first post/official pick and you want to come here on the blog and give your thoughts as to why you chose Bob, that’s cool. You only get to pick once, so choose wisely. Unless we bog down somewhere, and then I might ask you to pick for another team too. I, of course, can pick for as many teams as I want, because it’s my game. I will probably just pick for the Rams to get us started, then the Cowboys and the Jets.

It’s kind of dumb to be excited about this, but I think I am. We’ll keep a running tally of the official picks here on the blog, but we can only update it every so often. So the official tally will be on Twitter. If you want to participate, you need to search #agnewNFLmock. That should tell you who has been chosen so far, and will tell you what the next open team is, if you want to jump in. This may be a train wreck. I am excited nonetheless.

The draft order is:

1. St. Louis Rams
2. Detroit Lions
3. Tampa Bay Bucs
4. Washington Redskins
5. Kansas City Cheifs
6. Seattle Seahawks
7. Cleveland Browns
8. Oakland Raiders
9. Buffalo Bills
10. Jacksonville Jaguars
11. Denver Broncos
12. Miami Dolphins
13. San Francisco 49ers
14. Seattle Seahawks
15. New York Giants
16. Tennessee Titans
17. San Francisco 49ers
18. PIttsburgh Steelers
19. Atlanta Falcons
20. Houston Texans
21. Cincinnati Bengals
22. New England Patriots
23. Green Bay Packers
24. Philadelphia Eagles
25. Baltimore Ravens
26. Arizona Cardinals
27. Dallas Cowboys
28. San Diego Chargers
29. New York Jets
30. Minnesota Vikings
31. Indianapolis Colts
32. New Orleans Saints

We’ll see about Round Two, if this really takes off. But for now, get your twitter account ready, and read your Mel Kiper Mock Draft notes. Because here we go. The first pick will be made as soon as I see this has posted. Take luck.

Sherry Rivers On Twitter

Hey guys. As you know, I’m good friends with Jon and Sherry Rivers. Jenny and I stopped in to see them last weekend on our way back from the Tulsa show and I’m so excited to tell you that they are doing awesome. They are not sure what God has in store for their next season in life, but I reassured them that we hear daily from you all concerning how much you love them and miss them. Someone had suggested that Sherry do the Twitter thing but she was unsure. I thought she would be great at it and it would provide so many of you a way to hear from her consistently again. So I set it up for her. You can follow her: @sherryrivers on Twitter. I’m trying to let as many people know as possible and then in a couple of days I’m going to call her and show her how many people are signed up looking forward to hearing from her. So if you’re already on Twitter, just find her and follow. If you’re not yet, it’s another great social medium and this would be a great time to jump on. You can sign up at twitter.com, then you can follow her at @sherryriver. You can follow me at @agnewsdei. And so many other great Christian artists are on as well. You can search and find your favorites. Now just think for a moment about how you could let as many people know about this new Twitter account for Sherry, whether it’s a RT, a blog, an email, a message board post, a phone call, or just yell out your window. I’m excited about being able to encourage the Rivers in this way. Looking forward to how God uses this.
