Well, guys, we have news for you. “The One You Want”, the second radio single from H2BL, is going to radio. Well, actually it went to radio on Friday. It was a surprise, but a good one. I have been excited about that song for a long time, and am really glad we get to share it with everyone. I am also a little sad because it means that “God Undefeatable” didn’t do very well. It’s too bad because it’s a wonderful worship song. And I am very grateful to AFR, KXOJ, WDJC, and all the other radio stations that played it.
But now, we are all really excited about the new tune. You can buy it on iTunes, check it out on Spotify, or get the whole record at toddagnew.com or your local Christian bookstore. You can also watch the video of the story behind the song here and read the extended story blog here.
If you are a part of our regular community, you know I rarely ask anything of you, except to participate in the discussion we have. I’m not much of a self-promoter. But I think I need to ask you to call your local radio station and request “The One You Want”. Your station may even have a Listener Advisory Panel or something along those lines, where you can continuously share your opinions on what they play. KLOVE has one, and I know a lot of you were introduced to my music there in the first place.
I’m excited about what God has in store in the coming months. Accepting that God loves you unaffected by your success or failure is a hard road. I look forward to hearing some of the stories of those who begin to receive that. So thanks for your help, and thanks for being a part.
Todd
Tuesday is “music day” here at the radio ranch. I’ll be looking for it on MPE!! Gotta keep up with the latest Todd.
We love “God Undefeatable” here in Birmingham and will love “The One You Want”….. Going to WDJC Facebook right now!
Define “didn’t do very well”. By the worlds standard or by God’s standard? I ask this out of love for you and your music. I know what you are saying but God has purposes through us that the industry can never chart. This song has and will touch lives much like other songs that you and others have recorded that radio doesn’t recognize. Because God IS Undefeatable, He is glorified through each performance, each playing, and each time someone sings your songs. Now that is very well with my soul!
By the way, I will make sure that the two local stations are playing “The One You Want”!
I don’t understand the radio industry and why they didn’t play God Undefeatable. I know I requested it several times with JoyFM in St Louis and they never played it. They seem to prefer more soft pop CCM over heart grabbing Todd Agnew music! “The One You Want” is classic Todd Agnew! Love it!
I think “God Undefeatable” will continue to be used…it’s the kind of song that takes time to really sink in…at least for me. It wasn’t initially my favorite on the album, but it has blessed me tremendously! And the message on “The One You Want” may save somebody’s life. Thank you again, Todd, for pouring yourself into another great album. I’m on K-Love’s advisory board, and they’ll be hearing from me. 🙂

We are still using God Undefeatable in our rotation, and we added The One You Want about 2 weeks ago. Fortunately I can program the songs I want into my program, and yours are used daily. http://www.wvyn.org
Much of what I do in ministry has to be as an act of faith…I never know who is tuning in at that exact moment and being encouraged or changed by what I say or play. I’ve been studying Elisha and the double portion. 2 kings 2. We know he got it because he saw Elijah go up to heaven in the whirlwind. But when we read about his miracles they don’t have the pomp and grandiose display of Elijah’s. So what’s up with the double portion? I’ve learned that Elisha’s miracles were targeted toward individuals’ needs…and here’s wonder in the double portion–it takes a greater anointing to work change in a person’s heart. Elijah’s grand miracles were necessary, but they didn’t change Ahab. We have to trust that God is working in individual’s hearts & bringing true change,,,and if He uses our giftings that way, that’s true ministry. Hebrews 6:10, 1 Corinthians 15:58
Hey Todd…I had the pleasure of hearing you perform this live @ Ten Mile Baptist Church in McLeansboro, IL recently…I was the guy who approached you after the concert who told you “I know I’m not supposed to do it but I covet your guitar”. I want to thank you for challenging believers and non-believers alike with your lyrics. The message of the cross and God’s unconditional love for sinners is still the spade that can break open the dry fallow ground of a worldly heart. I hope you’re feeling much better since McL. & I pray you don’t get discouraged if a strong message isn’t quickly received…it takes time for a seed once planted, to produce fruit…You’ve got the right seed, just keep planting and the fruit will come!
