Hey guys, I’m always looking for great new worship songs. It’s that time of year when we start looking toward summer camp and shopping around for the best songs. So I wanted to get your input. What’s your favorite new worship song? What is meaning a lot to you right now? What is expressing your heart for Jesus? What is challenging you to worship in a new or deeper way? Or just what do you like? That’s good too.
Thoughts?

Great I Am, 10000 Reasons, Great Great God (Gateway)
10,000 Reasons by Matt Redman. I love the challenge of these lines:
“The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning
It’s time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes.”
Mighty Breath of God by Jesus Culture, the sheer power of the idea of that just blows me away. Simply the breath of our Almight God in Heaven is more than we can imagine!
“I am Forgiven” by Richardo Sanchez – Simple, fun, energetic. “O the Blood” by Kari Jobe and Gateway Worship – I like songs about the blood of Jesus, A reminder of His sacrifice. “Be Thou Exalted” by New Life worship – Hymn-like worship. “How Deep the Father’s Love for Us” by Stuart Townend – again, hymn worship.
10,000 Reasons, One Thing Remains, Love Came Down, Jesus Son of God, Lay Me Down, White Flag.
Lay Me Down….Forever Reign…those were big, powerful songs at our DNOW last wknd..which usually end up being done at camp every year… 🙂
My friend, Lisa, told me about the song “Awesome” which is sung by Pastor Charles Jenkins and Fellowship Chicago. http://youtu.be/mWRJTDw78JY
Lyrics:
My God is Awesome; He can move mountains; Keep me in the valley; Hide me from the rain. My God is Awesome; Heals me when I’m broken; Strength where I’ve been weakened. Forever He will reign. My God is Awesome; Savior of the whole world; Giver of Salvation; By His stripes I am healed. My God is Awesome; Today I am forgiven; His grace is why I’m living; Praise His Holy name.
The song lives up to its name, and invites my heart to worship.
Oh Praise His holy Name. My God is Awesome truly sets the atmosphere to Worship and Praise My Heavenly Father. Just me and Him I Love This Song
I’ve been listening to a local young Christian lady named Reggae C. and she has a song called “Eventually” which is fantastic. All about how God works in His time and how we just need to believe and God will be there to care for our needs but in His time. I can send you a copy if you’re interested. Take care.
Revelation song by Phillips, Craig & Dean
I have to say right now my favorite worship song is “Carry Me to the Cross” by Kutless.
Take Heart – Hillsong United … the song is so encouraging and displays God in a tremendous way.
“Awesome” by Charles Jenkins
“Every Breath” by Gungor
“Jesus We Are Grateful” by Jason
Gray
“Our God Alone” by The Brilliance
Todd,
You should definitely make an effort to check “Exalted” by the Nick Gainey Band. It is on itunes…great song that is little known.
“Just As I Am” by Shaun Groves is great. The chorus: “O I Come to the Son, who can heal with His wounds; O I come to the Thief, who has robbed every tomb; O I come to the Victor, my Life and my Love; O Lamb of God, I come”
“Like A Lion” by Daniel Bashta is my favorite. The chorus: “My God’s not dead He’s surly alive; He’s living on the inside roaring like a lion.
Chris Tomlin’s White Flag or Lord I Need You are good.
The chorus to Lord I need You: “Lord, I need You, oh I need You; Every hour I need You; My one defense, my righteousness; Oh God, how I need You”
Or Phil Wickham’s Cannons.
I’ve been listening to a lot of Kutless lately and have really been moved by some of their songs. An old hymnal song that I have recently heard for the first time, and fell in love with, is “Unclouded Day.”
“Come To Me” by Jenn Johnson. It’s been a direct call from the heart of Jesus to me and family after a really tough year of unemployment and God totally ‘rearranging’ my whole mindset. From their Sessions from The Loft CD. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1wZf5trI84
Other than HTBL, I am moved by Jeremy Camp’s “Overcome” and Jason Gray’s “Nothing is Wasted” and “The End of Me”.
I was introduced to your music by one of my adult sons…yep, I’m an older listener. The songs you choose lift me up towards Jesus and worship of Him. I am impressed by how you handle your adoption – all 8 of my sons are adopted – and I’m a single parent. If I could suggest a song that drives me to worship it would be songs by yourself, MercyMe, Third Day, and Kutlass, but an old hymn to be revisited with your unique style would be Each Step of the Way. I don’t know how you could do it, but if anyone could it would be you. The reason I like the old song is that it has truth imbedded within. As an older man who lost a son (cancer), who lost his income, who could end up homeless, I find hope in knowing that Jesus is with me Each Step of the Way. I’ve lost much, but my hope of heaven and eternity wih Jesus cannot be taken or meddled with. Todd, I am following Jesus and always will. Thank you for blessing this old papa with your music.
Battle Belongs to the Lord. not a new song at all, but it is the most powerful worship song i’ve ever heard.
One worship song that I like is The Stand. The words that really stick out to me are:
“You stood before creation
Eternity within Your hand
You spoke the earth into motion
My soul now to stand
You stood before my failure
Carried the Cross for my shame
My sin weighed upon Your shoulders
My soul now to stand”
Awesome God and Sing Your Praise to the Lord… If you do, could you record it and post it?
“Come Thou Fount,” David Crowder Band:
“Oh, to grace how great a debtor daily I’m constrained to be!
Let They goodness like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love.
Here’s my heart, Lord, take and seal it, seal it for Thy courts about.”
Would like to know the chords for the song AWESOME. Can anyone help me?
God Bless
have you tried ‘Revelation Song’?
I downloaded Vineyards CD from last year Form Us. The song, What Can I Bring? expresses thanks for all the things God has lead me to and brought me through.
“What can I bring to You, simply a song of love and boundless gratitude, my whole life for You. You rescued me from death, gave me Your kingdom & blessed me with Your love, countless mercies from above. Had I riches, I would bring them…..”
Thank you so much for your selfless performance/ministry at McLeansboro, Illinois last Friday night. I was hungering for God’s Word and you brought it. God dealt with me in areas of doubt & unbelief, took me deeper into victory & true identity in Christ. Chains were broken in others I have talked to as well.
My husband was there with my two teen-age sons. One of my sons rated you a 9 out of 10. Keep on! I appreciatie your Godly life & example,,,sure makes for powerful ministry!
Joanne Davis (90.9 The Vine)
I might point out that the only 10 out of 10 that my son has ever given may have been about FOOD. Have a beautiful day.
Ruin Me by Jeff Johnson and White Flag by Chris Tomlin.
Hi,
Well I happen to be listening to a older but wonderful song you wrote called ” You Are ” and I would like to make something on YouTube to join it. I love the line ” You are the Door through which I find” Any chance you could speak about the song more. Where where you on your journey when you wrote it.
This is jumping around some but any chance you would give a single mom some hope in finding a Boaz man like yourself. I don’t know if you realize it but you sent a message to some arrogant church men that single moms are NOT trash to be looked at and harassed.
God Bless your Marriage!

Heart of Worship by Matt Redman
I love these lyrics– I’m coming back to the heart of worship and it’s all about you, it’s all about you Jesus. I’m sorry Lord about the thing I made it, when it’s all about you, all about you Jesus.
Remember me by Bebo Norman.
“I See the Poor” from the Illuminate: Children of Light album is fantastic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NmIDNRPhUY
“I see the poor and I see the broken. How can I sit here and do nothing?”
