I’m so excited to finally share this record with you guys. It has been a long time coming, but it has given me time to appreciate this record and the process. This is the best record I’ve done in a long time. At least I think it is. I can’t wait to start to hear the stories of how God uses it in your lives.
At the beginning, I brought an idea to my label, Ardent Records. I wanted to go to Nashville and record a couple of the songs with Jason Ingram. They bought into the idea, and I went down the road and wrote The One You Want with Jason, and we recorded it and one of my favorite worship songs Your Great Name. Then Ardent brought an idea to the table, what about working with Paul Ebersold on the rest of the record? I was honored, but I wasn’t sure how we would mesh. I loved Paul as a person and really respected all he’s done professionally but I didn’t know if we would work well together. After a long phone call, I felt the complete opposite. It seemed like he was perfect for this and I think he was. Paul pushed me in every area. As I’ve mentioned before, he’s the only producer that’s ever challenged me spiritually as well as musically. We talked often of George MacDonald and other things. And he really pushed me musically as well. Most importantly he saw value in some songs that I had missed. Letting Go and There Is Coming A Day are definitely so much stronger because of his belief in them. We made a good record. And then, because of some business things, the record had to wait. I didn’t completely understand why, but I knew God had a plan for it. And He has brought that plan to completion today. For some reason, today is the day God wanted you to hear these songs. And I am so excited that you get to.

We drove an hour and a half one way, just to find out that I had gotten ahead of myself in all of the excitement of your new CD. We found out when we made it to Lifeway that it was the 5th and not the 6th. With a sad heart, we headed home. I knew that we couldn’t make the trip the next day again, and thought that we would have to wait till I was able to order the CD online. However, to my ever great surprise, I was able to find How To Be Loved at our local Walmart. It was a major surprise, for I have found that our Walmarts and Kmarts don’t usually carry a selection of Christian Music, mainly the NOW music and gospel. I love the music, the CD was so worth the wait. Thank you so much for your music and thank God so much for the gift He has given you to present His Word. You are truly a product of what God can do, if we are only willing to let Him do so in our lives. Can’t wait till you are back in our area again, and hopefully we will then be able to take the kiddos with us too. God bless.
The record is amazing!! I had the pleasure of receiving it before it’s release date by pre-ordering it through your site. The lyrics are so powerful and a great blessing. I use your songs often as I teach Middle High students, all your records are inspiring. Thank you.

Although it is difficult to wait, I’ll wait and buy the CD at the Crisfield concert. We are driving 2 plus hours again from Delaware to hear your sweet sound again Todd. We enjoy your music about the lord so much. Can’t wait to see you.

Well Todd *a little sheepishly* I’d thought my husband ordered my copies of HTBL ahead of time, and he thought I’d ordered them. So…. I don’t have it yet, but it is on order. You’ll get my dissertation on it once I’ve had a chance to listen and marinate in it for a while. The radio song is amazing though. 🙂
No CD will ever be as good as your reflection of something record but the new album sounds great. You make the best music I’ve ever heard,and you were the entire reason I started listening to Christian music so thanks a lot! Really appreciate you and your music

This is a great album…thank you! The song that really speaks to me is Love Your Neighbor. My former best friend has OCD, and she dumped me abruptly ; this has grieved me as badly as a death, and there is much I don’t understand. Verse 2 could have been written straight to me.
I think this album sounds like the real Todd; got a sense of that by comments you made at your Dayton concert. A couple more low notes and one more fast song, and it would be perfect! 🙂
