I had an amazing time at Student Life this week and can’t wait to go back next year! Worship is always my favorite part! You guys were awesome! 🙂
Student Life was great this week. It was my second camp. Last year did not impress me, but this year was amazing. The songs were great; they really spoke to me. Ed Newton hit me hard the last night at Corporate Worship. My parents are supposed to get a divorce, and I’d been upset about it. Then, Ed specifically said something about if your parents are fighting stand up. It let me know that God is always there and He has His messengers. I am looking forward to being His messenger in whatever He has in store for me. I JUST got home a few minutes ago. I remembered you saying that you would have this up for us, so I felt like I should share my story. Thank you so much for being our worship leader this week. You and Ed have helped me get through this tough time in my life. I hope I will be able to see you worship again. God Bless!
Love,
Stephanie
Hey Todd!
My name is Andrea, and I will be a senior in high school this coming school year. Even though I have been saved and have been growing in my faith (or at least trying to figure everything out) for quite a while, I can not express to you how much this past week has changed my life. I came to Studentlife camp with my youth group of 15 from Monte Vista Baptist Church in Maryville, Tennessee. Before coming into this camp, our church had recently gone through a period of devastation with the loss of our youth minister and struggling process in finding a new person to take over our group and help us grow back together. During this process, my youth group dropped from over 60 attending to only about 25 attending regularly. So many personalities in this group clashed and no one really got along because we were all in separete cliques and stages of life. None of us were able to open up and ask for help from one another. After attending studentlife this week, my youth group has become a family. I just wanted to thank you tremendously because if worship had not been so powerful with the words of each song and holy spirit speaking through you and the band to each of us, we would not have been able to reach out to each other, open up, become vulnerable, and let our hearts overflow with the love of Christ. Four of our girls gave their lives to Christ this week and we are so grateful!! I have completely changed because I finally understand the grace of God and how I can be ultimately devoted to MY God, MY Jesus, MY faith. I never thought I would comprehend the concept of falling in love with Jesus, but this week, I did just that along with all of my youth group. Thank you SO MUCH!!! God bless you and continue to speak the Word of Christ through your music because camp has saved me and I will never forget that.
Thank you! Sincerely, Andrea Kooch.
my youth group had a really emotional time last night. My brother and i re-dedicated our lives to Christ. we had such a great time with you. it was amazing and we all loved it. thank you for everything.
Dear Todd, I wanted to thank you and your band for the amazing worship. Iv’e never experienced such powerful worship in my entire life. It was during one of the songs you were singing, that I sat down in my seat and surrendered my life to Christ. Thanks for leading all of us in worship. God bless you.
hey todd, i dont know if you’ll remember but im the guy who was wearing the squirrel hat and asked you why you were always beer-footed, but anyways, there was a song that you sang that said “if our god is with us then who could stand against” and i was just wondering what it was, cause i could’t find it, btw you were amazing this past week at SL and i wish you the BEST of luck, god bless
you guys rocked this week 😀
Your leadership at worship led our group (including me) right to the throne. The time you spent with our youth group was right on target – encouraging, funny and authentic.
Thank you, my brother for a memorable week and an illustration that will stick in my mind about the difference between my identity and my action.
Thanks Todd for an awesome week of worship. I loved the song that had the refrain in it that the “Lord will reign for ever and ever.” It made me picture the angels gathered around God’s throne singing to Him as mentioned in Revelation. Many of our students were moved and hearts were recommitted this week due to the praise and Word that was preached. Thanks so much for this! We will be praying for you!
this week God told whispered to me that he wants me to be in the ministry. I’m not exactly sure how he plans on using me yet but i’m very excited about what he has in store for my life. It’s completely changed what all MY plans were for my life, now i know i have to listen to him to know what to do in my life
It was a blessed week for our group, Todd. Thanks to you and your team for being faithful and available to be used by God.
Hi Todd,
I was an adult group leader at Student Life at Lee University this past week and I wanted you to know that the Jesus Christ really used you, your band and Ed Newton to bring the Kids in our group to Christ, and a confession of their brokeness with the beginning of healing in their lives. I know how Jesus felt when He wept for this world when He saw their brokenness, but what a triumph to see Christ overcome. What a joy to see them turn to Christ. We had 7 in our group give their hearts to Him. Now they must know that they are powerless without Him, and stay near to Him and know Him better than anything or anyone.
On another note. I am from Dayton, OH. When you came to Dayton in June, someone near and dear to me who is recovering from a Heroin addiction who had never hardly listened to any Christian music came with us to your concert. Your songs and your dialogue about addictions were very powerful to Him and to myself. He has been lost for quite awhile, but you gave him hope in an empowering God. I just wanted to say thank for being available to God and letting the Holy Spirit work through you. Love you Todd.
YBIC,
Tim Berry
todd before this week i was not living for christ i was a horrible person. and you made me relize that go dis my lord and savoir and so now he is calling me to missions im redicating my life to christ.
I had an amazing time worshipping with you and you band along with the rest of the teens! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
This week I learned a lot! But what stood out to me the most is the quote you said, “God isn’t disappointed about the mistakes we’ve made but rejoices in the steps we’ve taken.” This quote spoke volumes to me and I would like to thank you and your band for everything you did this week. It really touched my heart.
your music was my favorite part of the whole camp! i felt TERRIBLE on thursday, but i pulled it together just so i could worship by pouring my heart into the music! thank u 4 the best week ever!
Dear Todd,
Things were not going right in my life. I don’t know I just kinda drifted away from him and would go to church because I was supposed to not because I wanted to. When we got to camp and you started singing Song of Moses I jut sat down and prayed and was like “God I’ve been horrible” and like a huge weight was takin off my back and I would just like to thank you and tell you that God is leading me to go to Kenya and ask for you to please pray for me. Thank you so very much.
Love,
Brya
Thank you so much for leading us in worship this week! It was absolutely amazing. The worship sessions would always re-open my eyes to God’s amazing love. Two of my close friends are going through trials right now, and Friday night broke all 3 of us down. We hugged, prayed, and balled our eyes out. The Holy Spirit was definitely there 🙂
Hey Todd! This year was great! It’s my second time hearing you, I heard you my first year two years ago in Orange Beach, AL. Both times I’ve seen you and your band y’all have been incredible and worship God incredibly! I just wanted to say thanks for such amazing worship!! 😀
Todd, thank you so much for leading worship at camp last week. I think that I can honestly say that it was the first time that I had truly encountered God through music. Thank you also for coming to visit our church group after worship on the last night, and for the amazing advice regarding accountability, authenticity, and repentance. God made a difference in my life through your ministry, and for that I am very grateful. Good luck in the future!
this year i went to my first camp and it was amazing. shout out to family group 55 and to the color RED RUMBLE!!! all u guys and gals were amazing as were the band and our speaker. just wanted to say that on the way home i prayed as i had for the past 2days and on Sunday July 10, 2011 i gave my life to the lord. so thanks to everyone that i came in contact with this week .may the LORD OUR GOD BLESS AND WATCH OVER U ALL FOREVER!!!!!! I LOVE U ALL MY FAMILY IN CHRIST!!!
Hey Todd, I was a camper at SL last week. I still can’t get Song of Moses out of my head! 😀 You and Ed make an awesome worship team. I had so much fun working at the Salvation Army camp and i’m DEFINATELY coming back next year. Friday night, our entire youth group was in tears (including me). One of my friends was having troubles at home, and right there in the auditorium she poured her heart out to God while we sang “praise the Lord, our Mighty Warrior, praise the Lord, the Glorious One”. The Holy Spirit came upon everyone that night, and I thank God for it. May the Lord bless you, Todd. I’ll pray for you.
Todd you and your band were amazing at Student Life this pasted week. Between you and Ed it was one of the best camps ever and most moving expercience I’ve ever had. I’ve gone to 8 SL Camps and this pasted one is by far the best. Our youth group as a whole grew closer with each other and the Lord. We had 5 give make decisions to be save and 4 decided to go into the ministry with missions. We’re baptizing 8 people in our church Sunday to kick off our revival and y’all have gotten our entire youth on fire for God. Thank you for all that you do! Even though only one songs was yours, your music was phenomenal.
Hey Todd, bryan, cody, and rob!! u guys rock, and the Lord has provided a new light in my life and the lives of many others through you!! I love all of the songs you all sang and i hope to hear you again!!! Todd, i love your dry humor!!! HILAROUS!!!
Todd you have been truly blessed by God. Thank you for deciding to sing christian music. Your songs helped me and some of my closest friends last week at Lee U.
Hey Todd!!!
My name is Melanie and I’m a rising 8th grader this year. I have to agree completely with what my good friend Andrea Kooch said about how your music and the studentlife camp completely changed and brought our torn, devastated youth group together!! Ed Newton was amazing and the services were incredible, but I’m one of those people that if the music doesn’t move me, nothing will. Thank you guys sooooo much for doing what you do and following after God with all your hearts!! I have already been saved but I grew a lot closer to God last week!!!
Melanie
