All right, it’s another fun meaningless blog. I’m sorry for the delay in getting a blog out. I wrote this big huge blog at the beginning of last week, but we felt it would be too easily misunderstood. So I have been discouraged in the blogging realm lately. But here is a dumb fun idea that may work or it may not. It kind of depends on how many of our community are on twitter and how many of those are football fans. So here’s what’s going to happen…
We’re going to have an NFL Mock Draft today. I’m going to start it on Twitter. My Twitter is @AgnewsDei. The hashtag will be #agnewNFLmock. If you want to participate, you have to be quick. I’ll start with the first pick from the St. Louis Rams. Then, whoever wants to pick next, jump in. Your twitter post should look something like this…
“#agnewNFLmock #2 Detroit Lions choose Bob Johnson, K, Applied Tech College of Montana”
Of course, that would be a terrible pick, since I don’t even know who Bob Johnson is. But the Lions just might do that. At least, it’s not the Clippers. Anyway, whoever posts first will be the official pick. If you have leftover characters and want to give a reason, great. You can abbreviate anything as long as we get the general idea. If you’re the first post/official pick and you want to come here on the blog and give your thoughts as to why you chose Bob, that’s cool. You only get to pick once, so choose wisely. Unless we bog down somewhere, and then I might ask you to pick for another team too. I, of course, can pick for as many teams as I want, because it’s my game. I will probably just pick for the Rams to get us started, then the Cowboys and the Jets.
It’s kind of dumb to be excited about this, but I think I am. We’ll keep a running tally of the official picks here on the blog, but we can only update it every so often. So the official tally will be on Twitter. If you want to participate, you need to search #agnewNFLmock. That should tell you who has been chosen so far, and will tell you what the next open team is, if you want to jump in. This may be a train wreck. I am excited nonetheless.
The draft order is:
1. St. Louis Rams
2. Detroit Lions

We’ll see about Round Two, if this really takes off. But for now, get your twitter account ready, and read your Mel Kiper Mock Draft notes. Because here we go. The first pick will be made as soon as I see this has posted. Take luck.
#agnewNFLmock With the 1st pick in the 2010 draft, the St. Louis Rams choose… Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska! ‘Cause he’s awesome. Why did Bradford shoot up the draft boards anyway? I hope he does well, but he very well may be done the first time he gets hit by an NFL DE or LB. Suh is a can’t miss. St. Louis needs a can’t miss, because they’re very capable of missing.

When you get to that point, re-read, adjust and or edit, re-read, and if that is as clear as you can make it…post it!
Seriously, someone can always misinterpret anything we say or do, just as they can always choose to misread our sentiments etc. We can’t let that stop us from speaking out, from communicating with each other and the world. The true and real outcome of Political Correctness is coerced silence; frustrated, unhelpful, embittering coerced silence.
Say what you have to say as best you can say it, and then be prepared to discuss, debate, or defend it as best you can. In the midst of that interaction is where we so often discover facts and truths about the subject we had previously missed, about one another, and about ourselves as well.
How often does the ground that is hardest to till deliver the most bountiful crop? 😉
Say your truth Todd! Was Jesus politically correct?!?! One of the gifts that you have been given is the ability to speak the truth that Christ has put in your heart. You have never shied away from speaking that truth and look at the result. So many people have reflected on their own relationship with Christ, challenged the steriotypical norms of religious life, and forged a new, deeper, personal relationship with their Creator and their salvation. That is the purity of your music and message. Was this not the way of Christ?!? What is more important, a mock draft or the voice that Christ has put in your heart!
